Adults, children displaced after Norfolk fire caused by lightning strike

NORFOLK -
An apartment fire caused by a lightning strike displaced three adults and two children Monday night.
 
Fire crews arrived at the apartment, at 5570 East Virginia Beach Blvd., about 8:45 p.m. and found light smoke inside the building and fire in an attic
space, Battalion Chief Sidney Carroll said.
 
The fire was controlled about 9:05 p.m. and no other apartments were damaged, Carroll said.
 
The children and adults were assisted by the Red Cross, Carroll said.
