A former Hampton Roads Transit communications officer has been appointed the vice president for institutional advancement at Tidewater Community College.

James P. Toscano, who was vice president for public affairs and communications and chief communications officer for HRT,  "will provide strategic, college-wide leadership for TCC's advancement functions. He oversees the areas of government and external relations, grants, college events, communications, creative services and marketing," according to a TCC news release.

Toscano's position at TCC is new.

governments always seem to

governments always seem to have extra money hiding somewhere they just don't want to show us.

absurd

Cost over-runs, embezzlements, illegal contracting, and many more issues. HRT had major issues and everyone that escaped without prosicution is now showing up in other locations doing the same job for the same pay or better. Most were given deals behind closed doors to resign or retire with seperations packages. You will see more of this soon. Headlines about ex-HRT employees of the management positions being hired or appointed into city positions or in organizations that are funded by the city. I love a good conspiricy theory but, this is not a theory. They bled us of money, walked off the job, and still living the sweet life. I ask the pilot to research were all these people are that worked HRT and resigned under Townes including him.

Old "News"

Toscano has been at TCC for a few weeks now.

Given the job description in the blurb, the duties are fairly similar to what he was doing at HRT.

Oh no!

I have always thought of TCC as a fairly well run college. If a former HRT leader is doing the same thing they did for TCC that they did for HRT I shudder to think of the fate of TCC.

Position is new????

I thought that state funds are tight? What a crock!!!! Otherwise, congrats, u got one over on the system.
