My 9 year old Daughter's ( Caitlyn's Girl Scout Project |
My daughter who was 9 years old when she started growing her SUNFLOWERS from seed. She then took over my back patio with growing her Veggies which consists of cucumbers, radishes, broccoli, carrots, and Canteloupes. She comes and stays with me every other weekend and picks her garden and gives the cucumbers to my neighbors. I believe she has a record in Virginia for the tallest SUNFLOWERS. The maintenance men were in awe so they brought a step ladder over and measured the 12' 7" sunflower. They are in bloom now and the neighbor are in awe that a 9 yr old Girl Scout has such a green thumb. I am so proud of her going around to our neighbors sharing not only her Veggies but taking some of the 104 zinnias to them also. is there any way you could do a story on her and her green thumb and selfishness. Thank you. Gregory Guthrie a very proud Father
