The public can get an early look at the new Sentara Princess Anne Hospital on Sunday, four days before its official opening.
The hospital will hold a “community day” from 1 to 4 p.m., featuring free health screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations, displays of emergency vehicles and activities for children.
The new Sentara Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance is scheduled to make a stop at 1 p.m., and the first 25 people to check in on Foursquare will receive a gift.
Sentara Princess Anne’s emergency department will start treating patients at 6 a.m. Thursday, while the rest of the 160-bed hospital will open at 5 a.m. on Aug. 4. The hospital is located at 2025 Glenn Mitchell Drive in Virginia Beach.
