It will be even hotter than it was the last two days.

Other than a stray shower or storm in a very few spots overnight it will just be muggy and warm with lows in the mid to upper 70s.

During the day, it should be even hotter with highs into the mid 90s at the coast and upper 90s everywhere else. It will also continue to be humid which will make it feel even hotter than the actual air temperature.

Excessive heat advisories and warnings will be in effect today, Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The high heat and humidity is expected to create heat indexes of 108 to 115 degrees each day in Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina. People are encouraged to avoid working or playing outside during the hottest times of the day. Norfolk and Portsmouth have announced several locations in the two cities where people will be able to go inside and escape the heat.

Over the next couple of days there shouldn't be much thunderstorm activity, but a few spots could certainly see a stray shower or storm, mainly during the afternoon.

irony?

Is is ironic that the guys installing our central A/C system called off until Monday because of the heat?! Not that I blame them. They almost passed out yesterday. Glad that we still have all our window units!

The ice cap keeps melting

The ice cap keeps melting, and the temperatures keep rising. All this in spite of the fact that the Sun is at its lowest level of activity in 80 years. But the Senators from the Oil Patch keep telling us there is no global warming. I wonder why.
