NORFOLK

Due to the impending threat of Hurricane Irene, Norfolk State University has canceled classes for Friday and Saturday, and officials are asking students who live on campus and who are able to leave to do so at the close of classes today.

All students who live on campus should also notify their residence hall coordinators regarding their intentions or email housing@nsu.edu.

Faculty and staff are expected to work Friday during their regularly scheduled times. On Saturday and Sunday, essential personnel should contact their supervisors to determine scheduled reporting times.

In Williamsburg, the College of William and Mary is closing campus from Friday through Monday. Residence halls will be closed Friday at noon.
