Today, August 30, 2011, an elderly woman in the 500 block of Thalia Road, got into her car in her garage and started it. She put it in reverse, and, at some point, got confused and stepped down on the gas thinking she was applying the brakes. The car shot down her driveway, across Thalia Road, over the front lawn of the house across the street, narrowly missed the brick house, crashed through fence, and came to rest with the back end in a shed at the rear of the property. Apparently no one was injured.
