Truck fire shuts stretch of U.S. 58 in Suffolk

A stretch of U.S. 58 in Suffolk remained closed Wednesday evening because of a fire involving a tractor-trailer.
 
A hazardous-materials team reported that conditions were stabilized shortly before 8:30 p.m., city spokeswoman Debbie George said. 
 
Eastbound and westbound lanes of South Quay Road near O'Kelly Road had been closed earlier in the evening because of the fire.
