Biffle and Harvick have incident in practice

Greg Biffle and Kevin Harvick made contact during Saturday’s Cup practice with Biffle running into the back of Harvick’s car, causing light damage.

Afterward, Biffle’s crew was pushing his car to his garage stall when Harvick drove by and then stopped briefly to keep Biffle’s team from pushing the car into the garage stall. Biffle then got out of his car and walked to Harvick’s stall and they talked briefly.

UPDATE

Got to talk to Harvick after the Truck race. Here's what he said about what happened with Biffle and Jeff Gordon:

"I was just on new tires and went out of the garage and got on the marbles on the outside of Jeff and (Biffle) just got in the back of me. It's all fine.''

Here’s what Biffle said about what happened:

“(Harvick) had a beef with Jeff Gordon down there in the middle of the corner. He stopped beside Jeff and kind of pulled down on him. I think he was upset because Jeff had pulled out on the track in front of him on new tires. So, I’m coming at full speed. Kevin took off right when I got there, so then I was on Harvick’s bumper coming down the frontstretch and he lifted early and you can’t blame me for that. Shoot, I didn’t know he was coming out of the gas like that. I don’t know what his agenda was. I, naturally, bumped him and actually I kind of wiggled him because when he came out of the gas, I shot to the top to try go (by) because I wasn’t sure if he was coming out of the gas to come into the garage. Normally, you do that off of (turn) 2.

“So, I didn’t know what he had going. Obviously, he had something going that I didn’t know about. I don’t know why he stopped in front of the garage stall. You’re involving the crew guys and all kinds of stuff in the garage area when you’re doing stuff like that. That’s not the thing to do.

“To be doing this in here (in the garage) that’s not right. I just told him, “Listen, you came out of the gas on the frontstretch, I didn’t mean to get into the back of you.’ He said he had stuff on his tires, which I understand that, but if I’ve got stuff on my tires, I’m not going to lift in the middle of the track in the groove. Nobody is going to do that. There was more to it than whatever was going on there. I don’t have a problem with him. He shouldn’t be doing that to the guys in the garage.’’
