Engineer in Hampton to discuss perpetual flight

HAMPTON

An aerospace engineer will talk about aircraft designed for virtually unlimited flight during a free talk tonight at the Virginia Air & Space Center.

Craig Nickol of NASA Langley Research Center will speak at 7:30 p.m.

He will discuss the development of solar-powered aircraft, such as the High Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, which is aiming for multiyear flight without landing, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's Vulture.
