A 20-year-old man was sentenced Friday to five years in prison for an afternoon shooting on Granby Street.
Aleksandr Dolgushev, 20, was sentenced for shooting a rifle at a Granby High School student as he walked home from classes. Dolgushev was convicted of a weapons charge, shooting a firearm in a public place, and attempted malicious wounding for the Nov. 8 incident, court records state.
No one was injured in the shooting. Dolgushev and his girlfriend followed the student, drove past him in a car and fired multiple shots from the vehicle, according to court testimony at the trial in July.
"Granby Street is not the OK Corral," said Norfolk Circuit Court Judge Everett A. Martin Jr.
