ODU student gets 3 years in prison on drug charges

NORFOLK

An ODU student was sentenced to three years in prison Friday on multiple felony drug convictions.

Daniel Reich, 21, was convicted of four drug charges, including possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Ecstasy and other controlled substances, and transport of controlled substance into Virginia.

Norfolk police discovered a box with a large quantity of marijuana while screening mail packages, court records state. The box was addressed to Reich in the 1500 block of W. 41st St., according to court records.

Reich was arrested at the residence and told police he imported 2 to 3 pounds of marijuana a week to distribute in the area, court records state.
