VIRGINIA BEACH

A woman who admitted to driving the getaway car in a rash of robberies was sentenced Tuesday to 16 years in prison.

Olivia Danielle Mercedes Weir, 24, pleaded guilty in June to three counts each of robbery, use of a firearm in a felony and conspiracy, the commonwealth's attorney's office said.

In a news release, prosecutors said Weir was one of four people involved in a series of robberies between Jan. 17 and 20: Albano Cleaners on Laskin Road, Papa Joe's Smoke Shack on South Lynnhaven Road, and Albano Cleaners on Pleasure House Road.

Three others also have pleaded guilty.

Mytisha Delynn Warmack also was sentenced Tuesday to four years for robbery, using a firearm in a felony and conspiracy. Kyle Delano Smith and Matthew Allen Turner are awaiting sentencing for their roles in the crimes, prosecutors said.
