Bicyclist recovering after collision with car in Norfolk

NORFOLK

A man riding a bicycle was taken to a hospital this morning after being hit by a car on Hampton Boulevard.

The crash happened about 10:30 a.m. near Hanover Avenue, said Chris Amos, police spokesman.

Investigators believe the bicycle pulled in front of the car and the driver tried to avoid hitting it, Amos said. The car had a green light at the time of the collision.

The man on the bicycle was not believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
