Norfolk School Board accepts superintendent's resignation

Posted to: Education News Norfolk

NORFOLK

Superintendent Richard Bentley has resigned his position.

The School Board tonight accepted his resignation unanimously during its regular meeting.

Three Norfolk officials had confirmed Tuesday to The Pilot that Bentley was leaving before the end of his four-year contract.

Community buzz about the superintendent's imminent, early exit had been rising since the board held a closed session Nov. 9 with the city attorney.

Bentley started in the post in August 2010. He came to Norfolk from the Ysleta school district in El Paso, Texas, where he was an associate superintendent for six years. He is a former teacher and middle school principal.

Does anyone actually know

Does anyone actually know why the School Board asked for his resignation? Or even if that is true.

Calhoun, Scott, Knack, Pruden...

Finally there are residents in Norfolk who "get it". There is still hope for Norfolk students.

And Dr. Bentley, thanks for "listening".

"The School Board tonight

"The School Board tonight accepted his resignation unanimously during its regular meeting". He received a $236k comp package."Community buzz about the superintendent's imminent, early exit had been rising since the board held a closed session Nov. 9 with the city attorney".

This is just Norfolk's way of not admitting he was terminated by convenience of an incompetent School Board appointed by the incompetent.

Tough Road!

The problem in Norfolk is all over the US. The Government ties your hands at the administration level, the teachers are bound & gagged, and the parents don't care! Norfolk get it together!

can someone out there shed

can someone out there shed any real light on this "news" story???????

Mistake by the school

Mistake by the school board.... However, look at the posted resumes of the school board and one shouldn't be surprised... Let's continue dumb it down, right "Dr's?"
