CHESAPEAKE

Local delegate named to spot on Romney's presidential campaign

State Del. John Cosgrove, R-Chesapeake, has been named a Virginia co-chairman of Republican front-runner Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.

Cosgrove is one of seven co-chairs on the Virginia leadership team announced by the Romney campaign Thursday. He is the only one from Hampton Roads.

Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling is Romney's Virginia state chairman.

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul were the only candidates to qualify for the March 6 Virginia Republican primary ballot.

Surprise

Del. Cosgrove what a surprise

Wha does issues have to do with it?

I really get a kick out of those who say who has the best chance to defeat Obama and support that candidate on that basis. Country before party takes a back seat when issues and solutions are secondary to one's selection. Record, continuity, and performance consistent with one's criteria should be the determining factors.
However, as to the legislator and Lt Governor mentioned in the above article, they are "star hitching". Their motivation is not issue based, but a self-serving desire for political rewards based on association with who they anticipate prevailing. In the citizen arena, the individual seeks government based on their values. In the political area, the individual seek political favors and rewards.

too many liberals

I did not know that Bolling and Cosgrove are liberals. If you support a liberal like Romney then that makes you a liberal. I will remember that when you two run for your next election.

first you got to define what is a conservative

Can a conservative not agree or has a past that you don't agree with you 100% of the time?
Can a conservative support the law of the land concerning abortion while pushing for social awareness against abortion?
Can a conservative support welfare while pushing for less government interference with people accepting personal responsibility?
Can any of the GOP candidates deliver a better government than a liberal?
Can a conservative support...?

That's the problem that many conservatives chose to protest against in 2006 and 2008 by staying home and not voting. Many wanted the whole loaf. Hey, we got their attention and do you honestly think the GOP will go back to letting liberals "win" anymore?
Work FOR America - vote FOR the best.

Let's See...

Let's see how many government checks Mr. gonefishin gets...I'll bet you suckle liberally at the federal teet, all the while blaming someone else. What did you do for a living, before going fishin? Any government checks in there?

Romney's not a liberal, and Ron Paul is utterly irrelevant, no chance whatsoever of winning the nomination. Just noise.

i don't even like your comment

I receive a government check it's called Social Security Retirement that I worked my behind off to get.

Conseratives take about a smaller government until they WANT something then they are all for 'big' government.

and your point is what?

Are you saying if a person who earns a government check for having completed more than 20 years of military service then they are not allowed to comment against "big" government?
Are you saying if a veteran receives a government check for some injury or illness received from military service then they are not allowed to comment against "big" government?
Are you saying that any elected official that receives a government check cannot try to reduce "big" government?
Are you saying that any government employee cannot comment or take action to reduce "big" government?
Are you saying the 100% disabled person receiving SS disability cannot comment or take action to reduce "big" government?
Are you saying that the retiree who paid SS all .....?

Romney

When Romney was at Bain Capital, he looted American companies and shipped the jobs overseas. Just ask the people of Indiana.

You understand little beside blindly following

your liberal roots. I am glad you are not running a company.

and

President Obama and the Treasury Secretary in collusion with the Fed Chairman and sending billions and billions of dollars to bail out European Banks... So I am assuming that you will be supporting and working for a third party candidate Chris?
