Downtown Suffolk street closed for emergency repairs

The city has closed a section of South Commerce St. for an emergency sewer repair.

The City of Suffolk Department of Public Utilities Line Maintenance Division is fixing the sewer line today between 8:00 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to a city press release. South Commerce St. will be closed from E. Washington St. to Hall Ave. for the work, according to the city.

Residents are asked to call the department of public utilities at 514-7000 for more information.
