Two apartments were damaged but no residents were injured in a residential fire this afternoon.

Norfolk fire battalion chief Harry Worley said crews responded at 1:45 p.m. to a fire at an apartment building in the 1300 block of Myers Road. The fire was extinguished by 2 p.m., he said.

Worley said the fire was caused by the improper disposal of smoking materials and was ruled accidental. Worley said no residents were displaced by the fire.
