Gilman School of Maryland topped Oscar Smith 51-27 in the teams' season opener in Baltimore.
Since then, Gilman - led by top recruit Cyrus Jones - won nine of 10 games and claimed the MIAA A Conference championship. The Greyhounds lost 26-21 a week after beating Oscar Smith, then rattled off nine consecutive victories.
Gilman also finished as the top-ranked team in the Baltimore Sun's coverage area.
Jones, a WR/DB, finished with 2,365 all-purpose yards and scored 24 touchdowns. According to the Baltimore Sun, Jones is a five-star recruit considering scholarship offers Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Maryland and Virginia Tech.
Oscar Smith, meanwhile, has won 13 consecutive games since that opening loss and plays Centreville at 4 p.m. Saturday at U.Va. in the Group AAA Division 6 state championship game.
