Navy to stream carrier homecoming live online

Posted to: Military Norfolk

Want to see an aircraft carrier homecoming without making the trek to Norfolk Naval Station?

Today, you can.

The arrival of the George H.W. Bush will be streamed live online beginning at 10 a.m.

To watch, visit PilotOnline.com, the Navy’s Facebook page, facebook.com/usnavy, or the service’s Livestream channel, livestream.com/usnavy.

In addition, the Navy has set up a Foursquare event titled "George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group Homecoming," so in-person attendees can check in with their mobile devices. The Navy has also set up a Twitter account for the event, hashtag #GHWBCSG.

The Bush is returning from a seven-month deployment to the Middle East, along with the guided missile destroyers Truxtun and Mitscher and the cruiser Anzio. Together they're crewed by nearly 6,000 sailors.
