Police continue investigating a shootout Thursday night in Cavalier Manor that sent a 21-year-old man to the hospital.
Witness accounts are inconsistent, police said, but the man who was shot had first gone into a house on Louder Court to see a family member while two friends waited outside.
The friends saw a group of armed men approaching the house and called him on his cellphone to warn him.
The 21-year-old, whose name was not released, then took a gun from inside the house, went out a side door and exchanged fire with the armed men. He was shot in the abdomen and remained in good condition at a hospital, Detective Jan Westerbeck said.
No charges have been filed yet, she said. Detectives searched the house and seized drugs and money, she said.
