Police have identified two people accused of stealing 27 spare tires from vehicles over nine days.
Officers Thursday arrested Michelle E. McLane, 29, of the 2800 block of Augusta Circle, on one misdemeanor count of obtaining money by false pretenses, police announced Friday. They were looking for Jon Paul Amentler, 44, on three charges of grand larceny and two of attempted grand larceny, both felonies, and two charges of misdemeanor destruction of private property, police said.
Since Nov. 30, spare tires have gone missing overnight from vehicles throughout the city. The tires were either left in unlocked cars or loosely attached to vehicles, police said. Detectives asked anyone with information on Amentler's whereabouts to call Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (562-5887) or text "VBTIP" and the information to CRIMES (274637). Amentler has no known address, police said.
