Delaware
NEWARK, DEL
Expect a physical game tonight in New-ark, as double-double machines Chris Cooper and Jamelle Hagins bump and bang in the low post.
A few keys for ODU:
- Take the ball at Hagins. The CAA's leading shot blocker is a better defender off the ball than on it, in the same VCU's Larry Sanders was. The old adage "crowd a shot blocker" applies here.
- Prevent the Blue Hens from saddling up Devon Saddler. The dynamic sophomore has taken 85 shots more than any of his UD teamates. ODU needs to pay special attention to the powerful 6-3 guard.
- Win the rebound battle. Delaware is the No.2 offensive rebounding team in the CAA, just a hair behind ODU.
- Match Delaware's intensity. The Blue Hens are a young squad intent on breaking into the CAA's upper echelon. A second win over ODU in as many years would mean a lot.
