Dennis Rodman to coach women's topless basketball team
Posted to: NBA

Former NBA player Dennis Rodman says he's starting a topless women’s basketball team for a New York strip club.
“I don’t know too many men that don’t like a good-looking woman running up and down around the court,” Rodman told the New York Post. Rodman, who was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2011 and is one of the game's best rebounders, also is known for such things as wearing a wedding dress to a book promotion and having an affair with Madonna.
Team members for the Headquarters Gentlemen’s Club will wear shorts and sneakers during games. “They’ll come out in a T-shirt or a tank top, but when the game starts, they’ll go topless,” Rodman said.
During the NBA lockout, another New York strip club, Rick’s Cabaret, had such a league with former Atlanta Hawk Spud Webb. There were teams in several cities, but the league disbanded when the lockout ended, and Webb returned to his job as president of basketball operations for the Texas Legends, an NBA Development League team.
If the name "Texas Legends" has a familiar ring to it, but you don't know why, we can help. Former Old Dominion great Nancy Lieberman was the team's coach last season. She's now the Legends' assistant general manager.
