NORFOLK

A night after blowing a 4-0 lead and falling in overtime, the Norfolk Admirals managed only a third-period goal in a 3-1 loss Saturday to Albany, allowing the Devils to sweep the two-game series at Scope.

Albany took a 1-0 lead with less than three minutes remaining in the first period. Darcy Zajac tipped a pass to Eric Gelinas in the slot. He picked up the loose puck and sent it off the blocker of Admirals goaltender Jaroslav Janus.

The Devils extended their lead to 2-0 with a second-period goal by Stephane Veilleux. J.S. Berube's goal in the same period pushed the margin to 3-0.

Richard Panik deflected a Mark Barberio shot on a power play for the Admirals' goal at 7:43 of the third.

The Admirals host Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:15 Tuesday night.
