PORTSMOUTH

A 55-year-old former school office clerk accused of taking an iPad that was delivered to Norcom High School pleaded guilty to embezzlement Wednesday.

Constance Christie said she took it because she needed the money, according to Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Neal Wilson. Christie returned it to the school system as requested, he said.

She is scheduled to be sentenced March 23 and has resigned from the school system.
