Police are investigating a shooting this afternoon that sent two people to the hospital.
Shortly after 2 p.m., Hampton police were called to the 300 block of South Back River Road, a news release said. While they were enroute, the officers learned someone had been shot. They found one man with a single gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital for injuries that were considered potentially life-threatening.
A second man walked into a hospital a short time later with a gunshot wound to his back, the police news release said. His injuries were not considered serious. Police have determined the two men were involved in the same incident.
No other details about the shooting were available.
