Posted to: Military Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH

The Marine Corps is warning residents in Creeds not to be alarmed today if they spot low-flying military helicopters.

The service is planning a training exercise to prepare personnel with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C., for an upcoming deployment.

The exercise will take place at the Virginia Beach Police training site in Creeds. It will involve about 25 Marines who will arrive by helicopter at the training site Tuesday night. They'll depart by helicopter a few hours later. In between, nearby residents may hear blank fire, said Capt. Robert Shuford, a Marine Corps spokesman.

Operations

Discretion

They should train on how to discreetly relieve themselves and how to avoid being photographed while doing so.

Tehran

The streets of Tehran are not

A bit shocked

You'd figure since Iran is mainly sand; Marines would practice wargames on sand.
