Missing ODU men's basketball uniforms found

Cancel that order for new Old Dominion men's basketball uniforms.

The home whites that went missing from the Constant Center over the weekend turned up in a campus parking lot Tuesday morning, according to school officials.

Whoever stole the uniforms apparently thought better of it, and dumped them in a lot on the far west side of campus near the Elizabeth River. A police officer searched a bag and found nine jerseys, three pairs of shoes and five pairs of shorts.

The Monarchs returned from a loss to VCU Saturday night to find the equipment missing. Coach Blaine Taylor had ordered new uniforms, which were supposed to arrive in time for the Colonial Athletic Association tournament the first week of March.

ODU was forced to wear road blue uniforms at home Monday night in a 67-59 win over Northeastern.

Given the outcome, players didn't mind.

"I like it, I'll go with it," guard Donte Hill said. "We got the win, so I'll take it."

ODU spokesman Jennifer Mullen said the investigation of the theft continues.
