Police released a photo of a man who cashed lottery tickets taken during the robbery of a Sentry Mart on Monday.
The man can be seen cashing the tickets at a Hampton mini mart about an hour after the robbery at the Sentry Mart at 780 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., police wrote in a news release. He left the Hampton store in a dark-colored vehicle.
The robber was with another man when they went into the Newport News store about 7:50 p.m., police said. One of the men pulled out a gun, forced a customer to get on the floor and then ordered a clerk to empty the register. The other robbery also took money at the counter before both men fled.
One of the men was 20 to 23, had a medium build and wore a black jacket, dark sweatshirt with a hood, blue jeans, dark shoes and a blue or green scarf over his face. He held a large black handgun.
The other man is about 6 feet tall, 160 pounds and wore a black jacket with a hood, blue jeans, white shoes and blue medical gloves.
