Pavement work to close lanes of I-64 in Hampton

Posted to: Hampton News Traffic - Transportation

HAMPTON

Part of Interstate 64 will be reduced to one lane on the Peninsula for two nights for pavement work.

The lanes, southbound between the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel and Lasalle Avenue, will close tonight and Wednesday at 9 and reopen at 5 the following mornings, a Virginia Department of Transportation news release says.

Crews will be grinding the pavement to improve the “rideability of the roadway surface,” the release says.

Drivers can use the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel on I-664 during the work.
