Police ID man hit, killed by vehicle in Hampton

HAMPTON

Police have identified a 60-year-old man who died after being hit by a vehicle Monday night in the area of Victoria Boulevard and Wakefield Avenue.

Quentin Lorenzo Cowling was crossing Victoria Boulevard when he was struck by the vehicle traveling east, a Hampton police news release said. The crash occurred at about 6:45 p.m. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the man was lying in the road. He was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center where he died shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Cowling lived in the 1400 block of Victoria Blvd.

Police said the vehicle that struck him, a Yellow Cab Company's 2008 Chevy Uplander, remained at the scene.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at 757-727-6111, Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (562-5887) or send a text to 847411 with “757HPD” and the tip.

Police are also asking for help to find the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 24-year-old woman on North King Street on Sunday. Kameka Sharae Holliday was walking south on King Street when she fell into the road and was hit by a 2008 Chevy Cobalt that was headed north.
