Police identified the man who was shot and killed at Roger’s Sports Pub on Friday night as a Norfolk man.

Raymond Davis, 21, was identified as one of three suspects involved in an attempted robbery at the sports bar on Bainbridge Boulevard, a Chesapeake police news release said.

WVEC-TV is reporting that a bar patron was also shot during the attempted robbery. The victim, whose identity was withheld, was taken to a hospital but was recovering.

Chesapeake police would not confirm that anyone else was injured in the shooting. Police also have not released any details about what led to the shooting.

Witnesses told WVEC that three people wearing masks entered the business. A customer went to his truck to get his gun and came back inside. WVEC reported that he was the person who shot and killed Davis after he refused to drop his gun.

Witnesses told WVEC that the customer who was shot threw pool sticks and billiard balls in an effort to distract the masked men.

Police said they were searching for two masked men who may have been driving in a light-colored Ford Taurus. Police did not say if they were armed.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (1-888-562-5887).
