A woman died after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a parked car and then came to a stop in the yard of a home in the 100 block of East Bayview Blvd. on Tuesday. Police identified her on Wednesday as Jennifer R. Desmond, 32, of Norfolk.
She was traveling west when she hit the unoccupied, parked vehicle about 6 p.m. The parked vehicle then struck a utility pole that snapped, a police news release said.
Desmond's vehicle continued into the yard of a home and stopped. She died at the scene.
