STREET RESURFACING Main Street – Main Street from Boush Street to St. Paul’s Boulevard will be under Norfolk police control during daytime hours while crosswalks are replaced. In support of this work, parking will periodically be removed as sections of Main Street will be closed on block at a time (heading west to east) and motorists will be detoured to adjacent streets. The road will be milled and paved immediately following crosswalk replacement, weather permitting. The work will be completed by the end of January.
DOWNTOWN Bank Street – Through September, the sidewalk and bus parking lane northbound on Bank Street between E. Plume Street and E. City Hall Avenue will be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured to the westbound sidewalk and tour buses will be detoured to E. City Hall Avenue. A parking lane northbound on Bank Street between E. Main Street and E. Plume Street will also be closed intermittently for dump truck staging for building demolition.
Bank Street – Through early March, the sidewalk and parking lane on the west side of Bank Street between Freemason Street and Charlotte Street will be closed for brick sidewalk installation.
Boush Street – Through mid-February, watch as the northbound turn lane on Boush Street at W. Brambleton Avenue is closed 9 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. daily for utility work.
East City Hall Avenue – Through early March, the sidewalk on E. City Hall Avenue between Bank Street and Court Street will be closed for safety during the MacArthur Memorial renovations. Pedestrian detours will be posted.
W. Freemason Street – Through early February, the northeast corner and first parking stall on Duke Street at W. Freemason Street will be closed for repairs at 227 W. Freemason St.
HRT light rail – Intermittent traffic stoppages and delays may occur along the light rail route for maintenance through mid-February.

E. Plume Street—Through June, the sidewalk on E. Plume Street westbound between Court Street and Bank Street will be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured to the eastbound sidewalk on the south side of E. Plume Street. Access to MacArthur Memorial will be maintained.
St. Paul’s Boulevard – One vehicle land and sidewalk of St. Paul’s Boulevard between Plume Street and City Hall Avenue will close through the end of February for utility work.
CITYWIDE 1st View Street – Through mid-April, there will be full street closures to through traffic of 1st View Street between Bearden Road and Tidewater Drive for the First View Street Water and Sewer Replacement Project. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained.
36th Street – Through mid-July, 36th Street between Colley Avenue and Newport Avenue will be closed for utility work.
38th Street – 38th Street will be completely closed to westbound traffic from Granby Street to Omohundro Avenue. Motorists should use Delaware Avenue and 35th Street as alternate routes.
E. Bayview Boulevard – Flaggers will maintain traffic on E. Bayview Boulevard between Inlet Road and Cape View Avenue for utility work through mid-February.
E. Brambleton Avenue – Through early February, watch as the eastbound curb lane of E. Brambleton Avenue between Church Street and Tidewater Drive will close for curb and gutter replacement.
E. Brambleton Avenue – Watch for alternating lane closures through the end of March on E. Brambleton Avenue at the I-264 underpass for bridge painting. Work will take place Monday to Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday and Saturday nights 7 p.m. to noon, and Sundays 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.
W. Brambleton Avenue – The vehicle lane and sidewalk at the southwest corner of W. Brambleton Avenue at Colley Avenue will be closed intermittently through the end of January for street light installation.
Corporate Boulevard – Through the end of January, there will be single lane closures on Corporate Boulevard between Curlew Drive and Military Highway for aerial cable installation.
Diven Street – Traffic on Diven Street at Hedgewood Lane will be under flagger control through late January for utility work.
Ethel Avenue – Through the end of April, vehicle travel lanes and sidewalk on Ethel Avenue will be closed for utility work. Vehicular and pedestrian detours will be posted accordingly. Flaggers will be used as needed.
Gosnold Avenue – Through early-July, the intersection of 36th Street and Gosnold Avenue will be closed for utility work.
Granby Street – Watch for alternating lane closures north and southbound on Granby Street between E. Princess Anne Road and E. 13th Street for utility work.
Granby Street – Through late January, the outside southbound lane between Suburban Parkway and North Shore Road will be closed for utility work.
Granby Street – Through late January, the outside northbound lane between E. 22nd Street and E. 24th Street will be closed for utility work.
Granby Street— Through late February, two vehicle travel lanes in the same direction will be closed on Granby Street over Mason Creek between Bayview Boulevard and Forest Lawn Cemetery for a phase of the Mason Creek culvert rehabilitation project. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times.
Hampton Boulevard – Through late January, one travel lane of northbound Hampton Boulevard between 25th Street and 35th Street will be closed for storm drain, curb, gutter and sidewalk replacement.
Hampton Boulevard – A northbound lane and sidewalk of Hampton Boulevard between Helena Avenue and W. Little Creek road will be closed for utility work through early February.
E. Indian River Road – Through late January, the outside westbound lane of E. Indian River Road between Berkley Avenue and Lansing Street will be closed for aerial installation.
Kimball Terrace – Through the end of January, the intersection of Kimball Terrace and Majestic Avenue will be completely closed to through traffic for utility work. Motorists will be detoured via Westminster Avenue, Norchester Street, and Thayor Street. Local access only will be encouraged during this time. Cut-through motorists must use I-264 or Virginia Beach Boulevard as alternate routes.
E. Little Creek Road – The westbound outside lane of E. Little Creek Road between Elton Avenue and Old Ocean View Avenue will be closed through mid-February for utility work.
W. Little Creek Road – Through the end of January, the outside eastbound lane and sidewalk of W. Little Creek road between Tapley Avenue and Diven Street will be closed for streetlight installation.
W. Little Creek Road – One outside lane of W. Little Creek Road between Cortlandt Place and Lambert Place will close for utility work through late February.
Longdale Road – Eastbound Longdale Drive between Tanners Creek Road and N. Military Highway will be closed through late January for utility work.
Mason Creek Road – Flaggers will maintain traffic between W. Ocean View Avenue and A View Street through early February for utility work.
S. Military Highway – Through the end of January, there will be alternating northbound and southbound lane closures on S. Military Highway between the bridge and Corporate Boulevard for aerial cable installation.
Monroe Place – Flaggers will maintain traffic on Monroe Place between Bedford Avenue and Manchester Avenue through early March for utility work.
W. Ocean View Avenue – Through mid-February, the vehicle lane and sidewalk of W. Ocean View Avenue between 1st View and Mason Creek Road will be closed for improvements.
Park Avenue – Through the end of January, traffic will be under flagger control on Park Avenue from Holt Street heading west for utility work.
Southampton Avenue – Through mid-February, Southampton Avenue will be one-way westbound between Colley Avenue and Riverview Avenue during a utility and streetscape upgrade project. Detailed signs will be posted.
Tidewater Drive – Through the end of January, there will be single alternating lane closures in both directions on Tidewater Drive between Goff Street and I-264 for roadway repairs.
Tidewater Drive - Through early February, Tidewater Drive between Columbia Lane and Alsace Avenue will be reduced to one lane northbound during the day and two lanes will remain open overnight.
Tidewater Drive – Through early February, watch for lane closings on Tidewater Drive between Columbia Avenue and Alsace Avenue for sewer main installation.
E. Virginia Beach Boulevard – Through the end of January, watch for alternating lane closures on E. Virginia Beach Boulevard between Layton Street and N. Newtown Road for utility work.
Wesleyan Drive – Through the end of January, lane closures along Wesleyan Drive east of Northampton Boulevard will occur for utility work.
