Soldier from Hopewell dies in Afghanistan

HOPEWELL

A 30-year-old soldier from Hopewell died Tuesday in Parwan, Afghanistan.

Pfc. Michael W. Pyron’s death is under investigation, said Maj. Carla Debro, an Army spokeswoman. She said Pyron was not killed in combat but would not elaborate.

Pyron was assigned to the 25th Signal Battalion, 160th Signal Brigade, 335th Signal Command Theater, East Point, Ga.

His body was flown Thursday morning to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
