Wind restrictions have been lifted at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, officials report.
Earlier this morning, winds had reached 55 mph, prompting level 3 restrictions.
The only vehicles allowed to cross the span were cars without exterior cargo, pick-up trucks without cargo, mini-vans, vans, SUVs, tractors without trailers, empty flatbed trailers, commercial buses and tractor-trailers with a 40,000-pound payload in addition to the rig. High-profile and conversion vans were being allowed to cross.
