Deadline near for primary absentee applications

Feb. 28 marks the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot by mail for the March 6 Republican presidential primary.

Completed applications can be submitted in person or by mail, fax or scanned email attachment to local registrar offices until5 p.m. that day, according to the state Registrar's Office.

Voters must meet one of the 18 eligibility requirements listed on the state absentee ballot application.

Votes may be cast by mail or in person at local registrar offices. The deadline to vote absentee in person is March 3. Registrar's offices will be open that day.
