Dems defend Obama record, McDonnell and GOP rip it
In separate forums, Virginia leaders Monday will offer contrasting views of President Barack Obama ahead of the fall elections even as his proposed budget for next year is delivered to Congress.
Democrats went first with the laucnch of the Virginia Truth Team, the state arm of a broader campaign to rebut election year attacks against Obama.
Several Democratic state senators -- Donald McEachin of Henrico County, Mamie Locke of Hampton, John Edwards of Roanoke, Adam Ebbin of Alexandria and Louise Lucas of Portsmouth -- held a morning news conference at the capital to tout that defense strategy.
It came as Organizing for America, Obama's national political organization, debuts a series of Web sites to advance a narrative about the president fulfilling promises and to counteract Republican claims that he's failed to deliver.
In addition to Virginia, so-called Truth Teams are being unveiled in swing states across the country with support from organized labor groups.
The GOP aren't letting that initiative go unchallenged, however.

It comes days after McDonnell Saturday delivered the Republican response to Obama's weekly address, blasting the president's approach as one of "simply more debt, more taxes, and more blaming others" while pursuing policies that retard economic growth.
According to published reports, Obama's budget will include items he's previously proposed such as higher taxes on the wealthy that Republicans, who want deeper federal spending cuts, have opposed.

it seems likely that there is no other person more fit to serve as POTUS during these troubled times of great opportunity to restore and advance ALL that is best in America.
