The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry Pocahontas will be returned to service on Wednesday.
The ferry will be back in the service’s regular rotation before the morning rush hour begins, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation news release.
The ferry was taken out of service on Nov. 28 for scheduled work at a shipyard.
Crews installed Environmental Protection Agency-compliant power packs in the main engines and renewed the remaining seals in the propulsion unit. The hull and car deck also were cleaned and painted.
