Flood, wind advisories issued for Dare County

DARE COUNTY, N.C.

The National Weather Service has issued coastal flood and wind advisories for Dare County tonight.

Strong northwest winds are expected to cause the soundside water level to rise, resulting in minor coastal flooding from Kitty Hawk to Ocracoke to Cedar Island.

Strong winds with gusts up to 45 miles per hour are also expected across the Outer Banks. Power outages are possible, accounting to the weather service.

Both advisories will be in effect from 7 p.m. tonight through Sunday.
