VIRGINIA BEACH
Virginia Beach's unemployment rate in 2011 was 6 percent – the lowest in South Hampton Roads, according to estimates from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and local unemployment statistics.
But the resort city isn’t immune to the rough economy. Virginia Beach’s unemployment rate rose from 2.2 percent in 2000 to 6.4 percent in 2010.
The chart to the left shows unemployment for South Hampton Roads cities and Virginia from 2000 to 2011.

This is just
bull malarchy! maybe you could get me to believe its the lowest paid wages in the region would be a fact , people are doing twice as much work for less money ,would also be a fact , so are we really better off not a chance, so what have we gained ? working more for less money and paying more to work for less money, so lets hear some real facts !
Again, statistics are wrong
These unemployment statistics will never be reported correct. They do not take into account those who have exhausted their unemployment benefits or those who just didn't sign up for them because they felt there was no use.
Why expect these statistics to be right when the government can't even keep track of aliens who are here in our country.
Fastest 6 month drop in unemployment since 1984
We have just had the fastest 6 month drop in unemployment since 1984.
Obama is the Democrats Reagan.

What's your source? If you have one. I don't think you do. Just trying to stir the pot huh....wait till your parents get home.
VB Lowest Unemployment? Really???
Let's review the real demographics. I don't think this is being reported correctly. Part-Time income for Military spouses and dependents working part-time (20) hrs. week for menial $10/hr. (if that) is not what I call "stable". If income is so "great" in Virginia Beach, why are Banks not approving more Mortgage Loans for people to STAY in Virginia Beach?
Virginia Beach's income is unreliable because "Military" income is stable income whereas "Retail" or "Labor" Income is not valued as "stable" income. VB is known for tourism also but that's part-time summer income so...what IS Virginia Beach doing to PRODUCE more income if Teachers in VB Public Schools are getting "dirt" pay expected to "do more" with less? Can you say..RECESSION???
