Homes evacuated after gas line break in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE

Residents are back in their homes in the 1700 block of Rowlock Road after a natural gas line break earlier this morning.

The line was broken by a construction crew shortly after 9:30 a.m., according to Capt. Mike Thibeault, Fire Department spokesman. Eight homes were evacuated.

A gas company crew had the line repaired shortly after 11 a.m. 

No injuries were reported.
