The plaintiff in a lawsuit that claims the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors unconstitutionally opens meetings with Christian prayers has been ordered to reveal her identity.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia filed the lawsuit against the board last September on behalf of a woman identified only as Jane Doe.
U.S. District Judge Michael Urbanski last week denied the woman's request to remain anonymous. Urbanski gave the woman 30 days to appeal the decision or to reveal her identity to the court.
ACLU-Virginia legal director Rebecca Glenberg tells the Danville Register and Bee that the organization is reviewing the situation. Glenberg says the decision is up to the plaintiff.
The board's attorney, Sen. Bill Stanley, says the woman shouldn't remain anonymous.

sounds fair to me
If “Jane” can’t stand the heat, she needs to keep her mouth shut and just stick her fingers in her ears.
