A 35-year-old Chesapeake man has been charged with making bomb threats to the Pizza Hut in the 200 block of Providence Road.
Michael Zion Erickson was charged with two counts of threatening to bomb a building, according to a news release from the Fire Marshal’s Office. He was arrested Tuesday and is being held in jail without bond.
Firefighters were called to the restaurant on Monday and Tuesday on reports that someone had called in the threats. No explosives were found when the restaurant was checked.
A motive for the calls was not given.
Threatening to bomb a building is a Class 5 felony that carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
