Man charged in robbery at Virginia Beach apartment

VIRGINIA BEACH

A man wanted on warrants charging him in a January robbery turned himself in to police this morning. 

Paris Travon White, 20, of the 1700 block of Garden Drive, Virginia Beach, was charged with armed robbery, burglary, malicious assault and use of a firearm, according to a police news release.

Police received a call about a robbery at an apartment in the 700 block of St. Matthews Square on the night of Jan. 27. The victim knew one of the robbers, according to police, and allowed the suspect to come into the apartment. A second person also entered the building, according to the news release.

The robbers displayed a weapon, demanded money and assaulted the victim before fleeing the apartment.

The victim was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.
