Newport News police holding public meeting

The Police Department’s South Precinct is holding a town meeting Thursday.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Downing Gross Cultural Arts Center, 2410 Wickham Ave., a police news release says.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Howard Gwynn will talk about a community-policing partnership, and other topics will include a discussion about crime-scene investigation on TV versus reality. South Precinct supervisors also will talk about 2012 goals.
