Parents!! The Kids Are Watching
Came across this picture this morning and had to make time to share it with you all.

With the business I'm in, I get to work with a large clientele of women that wish to change the way they look. What I slowly try to accomplish with each of them is to not focus on changing the way they look, but to change the way they feel about how they look. There is a subtle difference between the two of them.
We try to set goals that are performance-based such as "I will squat 125lbs by the end of March" instead of "I will lose X amount of pounds by next week". This is one example of how I work with a client on looking at what they have accomplished through exercise that is built around a skill set, versus simply looking at a number that has gone up or down.
Your children are watching too. I have a client that weighs herself 3 times a day and eventually her infant children will understand exactly what she's doing and soon thereafter an explanation will have to be given to that child.
That message certainly doesn't want to be:
"Mommy's feelings are determined by what someone else or something else tells her she should feel like."
