Portsmouth’s Dorin Spivey scored a seventh-round technical knockout of Victor Vasquez on Saturday night to win the North American Boxing Association lightweight title at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino.
The fight was stopped 25 seconds into the round. Spivey, 38, improved his record to 41-6 with 30 knockouts. Light heavyweight Frankie Filippone of Chesapeake and heavyweight Dorsett Barnwell of Norfolk won unanimous decisions on the card.
