Portsmouth's Spivey wins lightweight boxing title

Portsmouth's Dorin Spivey scored a 7th round TKO of Victor Vasquez Saturday night to win the North American Boxing Association lightweight title at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, N.J.

The fight was stopped 25 seconds into the round. Spivey, 38, upped his record to 41-6, with 30 KOs. Light heavyweight Frankie Filippone of Chesapeake and heavyweight Dorsett Barnwell of Norfolk won unanimous decisions on the card.
